My first time eating here was great. The restaurant is clean; the atmosphere, classy; and the food, delicious.
The layout of the restaurant makes for easy and quick service, as customers are basically seated around the servers. There are TVs placed around the tables in case your date is boring, and your phone is running out of battery. (Just kidding, but when I was there, they were playing this hilarious Japanese show about obstacle courses. My friend and I were thoroughly entertained.)
The prices for the menu items are justified, considering the market prices of the different types of meat. I ordered the yojie's cut with sukiyaki broth and brown rice for dinner. My server was attentive enough to make sure I was ok with the egg being uncooked, which I appreciate a great deal.
The stoves are controlled by the servers, and the water takes some time to heat up, but once it's hot, the meat cooks extremely quickly. Each table top has a bottle of water that is used both for drink refills and cooking water refills. Water and rice refills are free. I honestly love how self-paced this restaurant is, while also keeping servers close to the customers at all times. The restaurant also has cute "first-timer" signs to put in front of customers, so servers will come to explain various aspects of the shabu-shabu eating experience to them.
This place has an eye for the small details. I will definitely come back.
