Penguin is literally a place for everyone. There is usually a wait but the food is VERY much worth it. The crowd is so eclectic that no-one feels out of place. This place has the ultimate bar food! Burgers, Fried Pickles, Onion Rings, Hot dogs, HUSHPUPPIES...and all that delicious goodness! It has even been on FoodNetwork! Penguin started as a 'blue-collar' bar on the outskirts of uptown and still retains that look and feel. You can still get a glass of Shocktop here for $1.50 while everyone else in Charlotte thinks a glass of anything non-budwiser should cost $3-4. I ALWAYS bring company here first when they are int town and EVERYONE has raved about it!
