To be honest, I only went to see the Seven Magic Mountains for a cool Instgram pic. Located off the 15 fwy, somewhere between Wild Bills and the McCarran Airport (LAS), Ugo Rondinone's art consists of stacked limestone boulders painted with brightly colored paints. It was just something different and colorful to see, against the brown and green of the dessert that surrounds it. I like art. Some speak to me and others don't. This one was a "just okay". I was amazed by sheer size of the display; but, it wasn't emotionally moving. But still, photo-op worthy. Can you say new cover on Facebook? You'll only spend about 5-15 minutes here to snap about 100 photos, see other tourist take their 100 photos and, possibly, watch stupid teenagers try to climb the boulders. Things to note: 1. Go early because parking can fill up real quick. 2. No bathrooms available. 3. It's FREE. 4. The artwork will be taken down May 2018. Limited viewing time only.
