it was somewhat sparse for happy hour, but as the evening rolled on, it began to fill up. the beer list is impressive, however, they only had one beer on the happy hour menu, and a couple of wines. the food menu looked delicious. we opted for the bavarian (giant!) pretzel, the brussel sprouts, the asparagus, and the escargot. i was totally impressed with the escargot...they were soft and salty, and melty in my mouthy. the brussel sprouts were just the right amount of crunchy/chewy, sprinkled with salt and honey mustard. the asparagus were nice and semi-al dente, but the buttery sauce was a bit heavy. the pretzel was moist on the inside and slightly chewy, coated with sea salt...a perfect pretzel. the atmosphere was mood lighting, lots of exposed wood, and nary a praying monk in sight. our service was prompt and efficient, but the water glasses didn't stay full. overall a very nice way to start the weekend at a new place for us.
