Visited Joe Hooper's for the first time. Was looking for some good home cooking as they claim to have. Let me tell ya.. There was no home cook in the kitchen that night. Ordered the blackened brisket salad and the fried chicken with macncheese and mashed potatos. The salad had romaine lettuce. It was mostly the heavy ribs of the lettuce. Not the best for a salad. The brisket was a big disappointment. Very fatty and salty. And no homemade dressing. The fried chicken was overcooked with practically no seasoning. And NO gravy for the mashed potatos. Really?! I really don't think there was a cook in the kitchen at all. Macncheese was forgetful. Our server was good...she new the menu and answered any questions we had. Fix the food, Joe....why be common and ordinary when you could be better and different?
