I've been going to sugar sugar for my hair removal needs for about two years now and, strangely, I look forward to each visit. Sure, having hair ripped out of one's delicate girly bits hurts like a mofo, but Asma and her staff are so lovely they make up for it. I've seen a number of different practitioners during my time with sugar sugar and all of them are genuine and pleasant. Which is such an incredibly nice thing to walk in to in this big, isolating, sometimes unfriendly city. I've always felt welcomed at sugar sugar. And, though this is certainly not a fancy spa, the space is lovely and calming. It's located in the Odd Fellows building and has all the arched entranceway and wood floor character that goes along with that. The treatment rooms are spartan, the ceilings draped with flowy white cloth, natural light drifting through the windows, and soft music piped through hidden speakers. You couldn't pay me to go somewhere else.
