I finally stopped by the newest Starbucks location in town, and it's just OK. The employees and product (Vanilla Bean Frap and cake) were very good, but I really liked the older, longstanding location by Columbia Road and Lorain Road much better. For starters, the parking lot was not as big and the nice cozy fireplace area they had is now gone. The layout was better at the old store too, and I liked the outdoor seating area much better there as well. It had a nicer view of the large lawn in front of the store as well as the cars passing on Lorain Road, while the new store outdoor patio feels cramped, with a view (and smell) of a busy intersection just a few feet away. The older more enjoyable location seemed more like an 'old school' Starbucks, whereas the new location seems a bit contrived and generic. I just don't feel that motivated to go to the new location anymore.
