I've done the grand tour of downtown walk-in clinics thanks to a recurring minor problem my GP is too busy to treat. The usual drill: long wait to be ushered into the doctor's cubicle, then another slightly shorter wait for the doctor, then a third wait wait for a nurse and a fourth for the doctor to check the nurse's work (we're talking a blocked ear). At Patient Networks I only wait once--for a courteous, efficient doctor who does everything himself, pronto, and asks as I'm leaving if there's anything else he can help me with. True, the reception staff are not exactly welcoming (one was on Facebook the last time I stood waiting for attention). But they're certainly no worse than other clinics' receptionists, and the total experience is a whole lot better. I can't comment on Patient Networks as a family practice; for me it's a stopgap service--one I expect to count on for a good while yet.
