Let me start off by saying I am a BIG fan of sweets. Like, I've developed type 2 diabetes kind of sweet tooth; seriously I now have type 2 diabetes. Gimme Some Sugar is one of my favorite spots to go for something sweet. They have a varied selection but seem to focus on their variety of macaroons. Also serving up cookies, cake pops, marshmallow bars, cupcakes as well as your higher end (fancy) types of pastries & custom cakes.
Everything I have had here was good but I typically get a macaroon. They have several that are standard flavors that they keep year around but they also have a few that they change regularly so there is something new to try. They make caramel in house and it is pretty freaking amazing, so I would recommend that to anyone who was visiting for the first time. As for the cookies, cupcakes and cake pops, they are well made and tasty but how much can I elaborate on that?
I should also mention that this establishment is creative. They serve wine, beer, (I think, beer) have an espresso machine and some tea sachets. You can sign up for events to decorate pastries with friends while drinking wine and enjoying each others company. I come here for the dessert since I'm not a huge drinker and I am not a big fan of their coffee.
To sum it up, this is a cozy, well decorated place to come with friends and enjoy dessert together. I come for the macaroons mostly and I stay because it's a relaxing environment with a friendly staff. Definitely check it out if you're looking for a late night sugar fix.
