As I stated in a different review about a different Hampton Inn, we travel frequently for work and try to stay at Hampton Inn whenever possible. Most locations would get a 5-star review but this particular location fell a little short only because of the smell of the room. Our room was supposed to be a non-smoking room and according to the sign right outside our door, it was a non-smoking room however, the hallway and room seem a little dated and I'd be willing to bet that it hasn't always been a non-smoking room. It wasn't bad but it was definitely there. Maybe if they were to update the furniture/carpets/drapes/etc it would get rid of the smell a little more. Walking down the hallway and stepping into our room reminded me of when I was a kid and I'd go to a motel with my parents.
This Hampton Inn is in a great location though. TONS of shopping and places to eat around this location. We almost stayed at the other Scottsdale Hamption Inn but we happened to drive by it on our way home and it was almost in a ghetto part of Scottsdale.....this location was MUCH MUCH better.
The breakfast included with our stay was still good and of course there was still free wi-fi, and we still got a great night of sleep.
The only thing keeping this location from getting 5 stars was the outdated style of the room and the faint odor of cigarettes.
