When I finally decided I wanted to take the leap of faith and pursue my acting career, I immediately started looking for classes in the Las Vegas area. I had no idea about the industry whatsoever. I didn't even know that the hub of the industry lies in either Los Angeles or New York City. I found John after google searching acting classes in Vegas and I looked at a few web pages before coming across John's Class. There was a phone number listed so I called and John answered the phone. I explained to him who I was and what I wanted to do. He then asked me about my experience which there was none at all. He asked me if I planned on moving to Los Angeles or New York and I told him I had no such plans and he quickly cut me off and said that's where you'll need to eventually go if you're serious. There is a previous review on here saying that John is afraid to lose students. He's not afraid at all. If he feels like you're ready to compete he doesn't hold you back whatsoever. Anyway, back to my experience. I went to Johns class for the first time and like everyone says it was free. After one night the level of professionalism his students show and the talent they all had was enough to let me know this is where I should be. I joined and I ended up studying with John for 2 years. He starts you off with material that will get your feet wet and then he lets you dive in eventually once you're more seasoned. Towards the end of my time in Johns class I was nailing scenes from famous plays such as "Fences", "The Great White Hope", and even "The Odd Couple" I am now a working in actor in Los Angeles. The things I have learned in John's class STILL set me apart from other actors here. Although you are taught mainly on stage it's not hard to transition to film. Less movement, less volume. If you are still not confident then after moving to Los Angeles you may want to take an on camera class. I was a little unsure so I studied with Doug Warhit in Los Angeles for a month before I realized I didn't need it anymore. I haven't spoken to John for quite some time but I'm sure the quality of his teaching has only gotten better over time. He was more than a teacher to me, he was a best friend. He took the time to learn who you are and help mold you into what you want to be. It's a tough class and if you don't have thick skin don't go. But then again if you don't have thick skin then don't act! The industry isn't a gentle one. There will be bruises. Anyway. Good luck to all his new students! Please use this gem while you can! John is the best!
