Located right beside Pablo, my friend and I wanted a quick, light snack. He mentioned that Butter Baker just recently opened so we decided to check it out. Upon entering, I found myself glaring at the many pastries offered and had a hard time choosing because honestly; I WANTED THEM ALL. I had no idea what to get and the employee pointed out to a few pastries that were popular. Apparently, all the pastries are made from quote "real/natural" ingredients and of course, butter in all of them. In addition, I found that Butter Baker also offers: cakes and beverages (such as coffee and smoothies). In the end, I decided to go with the Caramel Almond Brioche ($3.55) and my friend got the Griotte Cherry Danish ($4.55). (The employee was very kind and even picked the biggest Caramel Almond Brioche for me!!! ) CARAMEL ALMOND BRIOCHE: What had drawn me towards this brioche was the amount of almonds placed on top of it. When you take a bite, the crust of the brioche literally crunches and then you begin to sink into the moist bread interior. The contrast of texture really mends together and the flavour itself is REALLY almondy but not really sweet. I personally didn't taste much of the caramel, but I did find the flavour to be really concentrated (caught me off guard) so if you're a big fan of almonds, I would recommend this. I personally found the texture to be more intriguing than the actual flavour of itself. GRIOTTE CHERRY DANISH: Okay, so I never EVER eat anything cherry flavoured. I have to emphasize that this was AMAZING.I literally wanted to steal this away from my friend. Everything about this danish was perfect. The breading of the danish complimented extremely well with the cherry in the middle. I was expecting for the cherry jam-like substance to over power the entire danish, but it was very light and sweet. The pastry to cherry ratio was excellent and everything balanced out. (I WILL COME BACK FOR U) Overall, you can tell and taste that the pastries here are fresh. I will definitely come back for the cherry danish and I highly recommend it (if you're a cherry hater, give this a try).
