Our party of two visited the Essen Haus on Saturday, October 9. We arrived quite early, shortly after 5pm and were greeted by a friendly young man. Upon entering, we first saw the bar with hundreds of beer steins hanging from the ceiling and a tray of crackers and cheeses for the bar patrons. A friendly young woman seated us in the restaurant and was attentive throughout our meal - not in an overbearing manner, but simply making eye contact in case we needed something. We ordered the jaeger schnitzel and the schweinehaxen and both were just fine. One of us felt that the red cabbage had a bit too much cloves, but that could probably vary. Our entrees were generous, hot, and priced appropriately.
