This Safeway is across the street from where I live so I usually stop in here for last minute things I may have forgotten from OTHER grocery stores. But one thing I DID love about safeway was their soup selections at the soup bar. So as I am coming down with a bit of a cold, I stop in to grab some soup to help me feel better. I selected the Pacific bay clam chowder and took it home. As a dumped it into my pot to heat it up, I tasted the bit left on the spoon and I noticed it tasted a bit sour. So I look on the bottom of the container and the soup expired SEVEN DAYS AGO! But that's not why I'm giving them one star. I had back to return the soup and the assistant manager is so indifferent about what I just told him. I suggested that he have someone check all the other soups for their expiration dates and he just gave me this blank stare.... I expected so much more from Safeway and its employees.
