This was my second visit, the first time I really enjoyed the meal and service. However this last visit will probably be my last. The waitress seem to dislike her job, no smiles she wasn't friendly at all. It was like I was asking for a favor when I asked for a refill on my drink. I came in with my family, and they actually enjoyed their food(fried chicken wings and sides). I wasn't so lucky, I ordered fried pork chop with a side of macaroni and cheese and seasoned rice. The pork chops were very salty and oily, the grease was pouring out each time I cut the meat. I was also give burnt Mac and cheese, I don't mind having my cheese a little burnt but not my pasta. I think Merts is one of those hit or miss type restaurants. It's unfortunate because I love soul food but I would rather cook before I spend money on burnt food with snotty service. What I did enjoy was the cake. Whom ever made the lemon cake hands were touched by God.
