I was at Mother Bunch for happy hour last Friday. Parking is challenging here, so I recommend arriving early. For big groups, they have some large tables with church pews for sitting, which were beautiful and cozy. I ordered the Gourgeres which were served warm and amazing. I feel they are the distant French cousin of the Brazilian pao de queijo just as cheesy but lighter and airier. I loved the Tuna Nicoise salad but it came deconstructed and it was a sort of a pain to mix it all up and cut up the gem lettuce. However, the smoked olives made up for the inconvenience, as they were some of the most incredible olives I have ever had. Now on to the beers; I started with the Dragoon IPA which was outstanding. Not too biter with a floral hop that was well balanced. Next I tried the Anderson Valley Blood Orange Goose. It was my first time drinking it and I was not a fan. I ordered it because it was recommended by the waiter and my friends but I should have read the description of it before hand. It was tart and it is brewed with sea salt and coriander, which is not what I look for in a drink. But for those familiar with the beer, they were very pleased, so my bad. I will definitely be back to try some of the Mother Bunch brews and to have more of those delicious Gourgeres.
