Work always puts us in the Marriott. I wanted something different since I was staying in Phoenix for five days. Nicely redone. This is a really special place. Art in public spaces is impressive. Rooms are very nice. Lobby and bar areas look fantastic. Bar menu features some great cocktails. Front desk and valet teams are sharp. Pool party on the weekend was fantastic. Beyond that, the services are lacking. The restaurant has some of the worst food I've eaten. Gave it three chances over a five day stay. Perhaps the worst was dinner in the room. I couldn't eat it... a simple hamburger. Rigatoni was a salt lick. Couldn't eat it. First day no one cleaned up the room. Okay. Second day. Nothing - so I pulled some bath towels and K-cups off the house keeper's cart in the hall. Told front desk. They made a note. Third day I removed all the sheets and towels and placed them in a pile in the shower when I left in the morning. Returned at 6:30 pm.... still no visit from housekeeping. Waited in the lounge for two and a half hours for someone to bring sheets and a towel so I can go to bed. It's too expensive for this. Definitely stay here. Just go eat in Scottsdale and stay in the morning until you see the refresh service start working on your room. Beautiful hotel. Can't imagine what it must have cost to revamp this place. Beats a corporation chain any day.
