I have been pretty loyal to Budget over the years but after my last couple rentals this is going to change. My car was in the shop for a few days so I needed a rental. I was happy to find a Budget location on Eastern Ave instead of having to rent from the airport. Check in wait was short but they were pretty pushy with the prepaid gas and rental coverage. The extra coverage was more than DOUBLE the daily rate for the car! Uh, no. I was given an older Nissan Versa with over 28K miles on it, this car had definitely seen better days. The next morning I went to leave my house and found a large oil leak all over my driveway. I drove back to Budget and had to exchange it for another vehicle. I was given an "upgrade" to a Hyundai Elantra. Again, it had over 28K miles on and was covered with minor dings, scrapes and damage. This location must be a dumping point for all the older used cars. Luckily my car was done early so I was able to return my rental two days early. Upon doing so I was told instead of $180 it would be $390 since I didn't keep it a full week. To their credit they did fix the rate back to weekly, but I still had to pay for a week even though it was only 5 days. I have definitely had much better rental experiences with newer cars.
