Great "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant just on the outskirts of Kensington Market as well as the Art Gallery of Ontario. In a sea of Chinese restaurants, Swatow stands out because of the affordability and quality of the food. The gf and I were overwhelmed by the delicious of everything on the menu but both opted for noodle soup. The fish ball soup came with generous helpings of fish balls, fish cakes, and gai lan and was full of flavor. As for the shrimp dumpling noodle soup, it came with four huge shrimp dumplings that were simply amazing and complemented the light noodle soup well. Both dishes also had noodles that were well cooked and perfect for the weary traveler's stomach. The only issue we ran into was their cash only policy. Coming from the US, we had no Canadian money and ended up on a wild 30 minute hop from bank to bank before we were able to get some money from the nearby Scotia Bank which accepted Visa debit cards. If only they accepted credit cards....
