I have been into Trendy Pet a handful of times over the last few years and while it has always seemed like a nicely run shop, things have gone downhill recently. I don't know if the shop changed hands, but the way the puppies are taken care of is not the same. Just yesterday (11.25.17), a friend and I were looking at the puppies in the window and I noticed one of the dogs had peed and it had obviously been there for some time.
Today (11.26.17), my coworker mentioned that she had passed by the store early in the morning a couple days beforehand and saw puppies sleeping in the window. Previously upon asking, she had been told the puppies never stayed in the windows overnight. As we were leaving tonight (around 9:00), we walked over and saw there were indeed two puppies sleeping in the window. Keep in mind, the mall closes at 6:00, so they're in there for quite a while until the next morning. What really angered me was that one of the dogs had not only pooped in the enclosure, but had managed to smear it all around and was sleeping essentially in its own poop. I know it cannot be controlled when a puppy needs to poop, but the fake grass mats (one of the changes I'd noticed) in place of actual puppy pads obviously aren't working. It was a sad sight to see and while I rarely shop at Trendy Pet, I will for sure never again.
