Not the best Marriott property I have ever stayed at. In fact, it's the worst. I don't know what it was (if anything) before it was a Fairfield property, but it's not up to Marriott standards. The pluses: excellent check-in and friendly staff. It's convenient to Scottsdale Airport and although it's right off the end of the runway (aircraft DO fly over but they're unobtrusive), it's quiet. The property is an odd mash up of motel and hotel, with the ground and second floors having outside doors, but the top floor having inside corridors. The oddly-angled bathroom which is tiny gives way to a spacious living area and the hardest bed for a Marriott ever. However, there is not closet for hanging longer items; the "rack" is mounted to the wall about two feet over the dresser. The breakfast... again, not up to Fairfield standards. A very strange turkey bacon, with the texture of limp lasagna noodles, dry overcooked pork and/or turkey sausage patties, and grainy eggs. Then there was the fruit... one day the only thing offered was strawberries, which would be fine if they were not frozen. And not frozen and thawed, but whole frozen strawberries, as in still hard and iced. The only reason we stayed there over the holiday week was its low price, but as they say, you get what you pay for.
