The Rustic Hutch is always a fun place to stop when I'm in the area. It is packed from floor to ceiling and wall to wall with crafts, antiques, and unique finds. They have merchandise organized by theme (Americana, beach, country kitchen, woodland, primitive, etc.) They've also opened up a new section in the last few years that has refinished and painted furniture with a few antiques mixed in. There is a little paint shop in the back but it's not clear what it's there for- I think they offer painting classes, but it's unclear. The ladies at the front counter are not overly helpful, but they leave you alone while you shop (which I like) and they are friendly enough when you check out. There is a large collie that stays in the store and he is friendly but does tend to bark whenever I'm there... that can be a little off-putting when you're shopping (and not a dog person). I give this three stars because the prices are really high and it seems that the prices go up every year. They have "sales" but they are usually very small and not very good deals. Whenever I've purchased something there, I've had to really debate over whether or not I really have to have it because it's so pricey. It's not a place you leave feeling like you got a good deal. You are paying for the uniqueness of what you find and the fact that the items are most often handmade. I definitely recommend this store to someone looking for a unique gift or a statement piece for their home.
