I was pumped when I arrived at NoDa last Thursday and saw Tin Kitchen parked out back. Then I saw the "Guy Fieri was here" paint tag on the truck and thought "wow, this is going to be good". I decided to sample three items. Buffalo Cauliflower Slider: great flavor, nice heat and celery root slaw was good - 4 stars Chicken Tinga Taco: solid flavor - but no stand out notes for me - 3 stars BBQ Brisket Taco: the brisket was burnt - not charred - but burnt and black half a centimeter into the tissue - the entire length of the piece of meat - super tough/chewy - all I could taste was burnt meat - if it had not been raining "cats and dogs", I would have brought it to their attention - needless to say I did not finish it - 1 star Kind of disappointed with my experience considering their reputation. More like a two star for this visit. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that this one "slipped past the goalie", but quality control is very important especially for a mobile kitchen!
