Perhaps the reason for my three-star review is my expectations of this triple D eatery were a little bit too high. My wife and I stopped in for a "quick " lunch on our way to run a few errands. The meal was nothing but quick, after waiting online for about half an hour to place my order, we waited for a good 40 minutes before being brought half of our ordered meal. Ice cold. After sending it back and getting a quick apology, my wife's calzone came out. The calzone was about what you would expect - ton of cheese, pepperoni, dough cooked perfectly. It was actually quite delicious. Then, my sandwich which was featured on diners drive-ins and dives return. While it was praised in several of the reviews on here and on TV as gods gift to earth, I felt like it was nothing really that special. A little bit too much bread and the homemade sausage while flavorful was not all that unique and mild in seasoning (I ordered the hot sausage). The food was probably four stars in quality I just had higher expectations after all the reviews and TV segments and word of mouth. With respect to the interior, the place is crowded. But cute queens and features and Italian markets that carries specialty items that look quite interesting. Personally, not a huge fan of people looking over your shoulder to view items while you eat but to each his own. If I return, it will be for a planed to take out order or to go order. The bakery and antipasto looked really appealing. As far as for a sub sandwich or pizza - I'm more likely to get something closer to home with an abundance of high-quality pizza in Phoenix Arizona. Overall, it was pretty damn good. But just not that good.
