The drive here was so beautiful. It's about a 30 minute drive from the Las Vegas strip, and a good place to stop on your way to Hoover Dam. We came on the 25th anniversary of National Parks, so we didn't have to pay to enter. I believe you normally have to pay $20/car. You can rent boats, jet skis, or go paddle boating on Lake Mead. When we went here, it was way too hot for my preference, so we didn't go on a jet ski or boat because I would have preferred to be in the water, swimming on a hot day like this. There's no swimming in or near the Marina, but I believe you can go swimming a lot further out. One thing that 's popular to do here is to feed the fish and ducks with bread. There are a lot of catfish here, and boy are they Super Duper FAT!!! People come here with an entire loaf of bread and feed them. I wonder why they allow people to do this? Perhaps they catch the fish and sell them? So making them fat on bread helps the sales? I have no idea.. but when I say FAT, I mean, some of them were so fat, they could probably swallow my hand and entire forearm. I wonder if you fall in, if they will try to eat you because these guys were crazy voracious! I also felt bad for the ducks because they kinda stand around, hoping to be noticed.. haha..looking like, "Can I get some bread too? Dang!" Anyway, if you come here, bring some bread for the fisheys.
