I first saw them at Tivoli Village farmer's market on Saturdays. My kid loved it and they are great. So I got their business card and decide to contact them for my kid's upcoming birthday party. I texted the number on the card, Lucy, the owner got back to me right the way and told me the date and time slot I wanted is open. So I went ahead and booked them and paid my deposit.
10 days later, comes the birthday party event for my kid. NO SHOW!
I had them booked from 12-1 pm. At 12:05 I texted Lucy and got a automated text reply saying "We are busy right now and will get back to you as soon as possible." So then I followed up with a call which was directly went to voicemail, I left a message. I texted her again 10 minutes later saying the artist is still not here yet. And I did not hear back from her until 2:30pm saying hopefully the artist showed up soon after my last text. ummm.. NO!!? She never showed up, no call or anything. We had huge banner and balloons indicating where the party was at, so it would be hard to miss. Now I have 10 disappointed kids and one very sad birthday girl.
So I texted Lucy back saying, no, she never showed and I would like my refund.
I didn't hear back for another 4 hours. She offered the refund and apology along with a free royal treatment for my kid. No thanks, the birthday party was already over and it cannot be undone. I'm just very disappointed.
Lucy claimed she doesn't know what happened to that artist for not showing up. It may not be her fault completely but as the owner, you need to know all your artists & schedules at all times and be available to answer calls from client on day of the event, instead of getting back to them hours after. If one artist is unable to make it, you send another one out right the way and call the client back to let them know what's going on. Instead of letting them just sitting there apologizing to all their party guests who were all looking forward to this.
To those who had a great experience with Lucy and her company, I'm glad you did.
I just wanted to share my experience in case other people wanted to book them in the future, use your own discretion.
