We just completed a long haul move from CA to AZ. We contracted Wheaton via a mover we had used in CA for a local move. They partnered with Desert Sun Moving Services in AZ via Wheaton to complete our move. To be fair and honest all our coordination was done via our moving company in CA who contracts (via Wheaton) with Desert Sun for AZ moves. We don't have any direct experience with Desert Sun except our driver who delivered our goods and the one crew member he brought with him.
Jose Gonzales was our mover, he called 48 hours before to let us know he was heading up to the Bay Area to pick up our stuff and when he expected to be in AZ.
Jose was great. He had one mover helping him and they both arrived when he said he would. He also called about 30 minutes before he expected to be at our house. They were both very professional. Everything was accounted for and we had nothing damaged. Jose sat down with me and we went through our entire inventory list to make sure everything had been received and he and his co-worker put together all our big items (dining table, entertainment center, and beds) with their own tools. We had a few items we had to run around and double check in the house but they were all there and in perfect condition. Also to note I packed all our items myself except for our TV's we had the movers pack and unpack the TV's because we hadn't kept the original
We were a little nervous based on other reviews but trusted our mover in CA that we had used before. I also was sure to research BBB and all their complaints had been responded to in a professional and timely manner.
We couldn't be happier with the service we received. I'm not sure if they use a different team for local moves but I absolutely would recommend them based on our experience with them.
