Why? Why did we choose Mexican food tonight? We have been to Cuco's twice before. It is OK as far as your typical Americanized Mexican food, but in the past it was at least pretty enjoyable. Obviously third time was not the charm. First of all we were seated in this weird back corner, half booth, half table. The wall my husband was facing was about a foot and a half away from his face. It freaked it him a bit. It took quite awhile before we were given chips (mostly broken crumbs...we got the bottom of the bag) and so so salsa. Please please to all Mexican restaurants. Please offer a hot salsa. Trust me. There are plenty of customers that would love it. Drink orders in and then wait. And wait. Finally got our orders in. Second basket of chips came. We finally some whole chips. Savoring the small victories. And wait. Just as my husband said they must have forgotten about our margaritas, around the corner they came. Then guess what...that's right...wait....wait. Again...just as we're about to lose our patience about our dinner, around the corner it comes. My husband's plate was just shades of brown. Brown rice, brown beans, brown chicken piled under what looks like 2 entire sauted onions. He had ordered the dish before and swore there was supposed to be some greenery included. Later we looked at the menu online and yep...lettuce and guacamole were missing. The waitress set down my simple order of a steak burrito giving me the dire warning not to touch the plate because it was so hot. She leaves and finally dig in. Sadly while the plate is hot, my food is not. At this point, 90 minutes after we sat down we just scarfed our dinner and got out as soon as we can. I don't expect much from restaurants like this. I mean the food is cheap but I do expect that the restaurant at least tries. I'm posting a photo of what I mean. If you're going to paint a wall...just finish it.
