I've been going to see Cindy at Village Hair Salon for almost a year, and she is fantastic. What continues to draw me back to the salon is that Cindy seems to genuinely understand hair, and is a good listener. I love my hair but it's wavy and gets very dry if I'm not super careful. Anyhow, it can be difficult to find a stylist who is able to cut my hair in a way that makes it easy to style either straight or curly. Cindy listens to what I want, and actually does what she says (i.e. if I say short layers, I get short layers; if i say just a tiny trim, that's what I get). Cindy will also tell me if I have a terrible idea, and will give options for something that would suit my hair better. In addition to having my hair cut there, I've also been converted over to buying redken shampoo from the salon. It's a bit expensive, but I've worked towards only washing my hair every 4 days, so the small bottles still last a pretty long time (and my hair is much healthier and softer). Cindy is pretty busy, which can be tough to book last minute appointments, I try to book in a few weeks in advance. I tend to get my hair cut by Cindy and blow dried by Elaine (who works wonders with a blow dryer). Someone else had mentioned cost, and my cut for longish hair is $55. I should also that a few of my girlfriends and their mom's also go to see Cindy, and they all love her too.
