As a kid in the burbs of Barrie, I grew up going on frequent visits to Curry's with my dad, who was an artist and designer. I always thought it was the most magical place. You can make something beautiful out of disparate pieces of material - that basically IS magic, no?
Anyway, moving on from that nostalgic tangent...I have lived closer to Midoco on Bloor (which is also great, just FYI) for ages and haven't been in need of any new supplies since moving further south, but man am I glad I had a meeting down the street today and remembered to pop into Curry's on the way home. This place is well stocked, and really well organized. I was looking for a new mix media sketchbook, some pencils, a kneeded rubber eraser, and some watercolour pencils, and everything was all in one long aisle. A few brand options for each but not so many you get overwhelmed.
I made my decisions and headed to the cash where I learned something great: 10% discount with your membership to the AGO! They also have discounts for students and seniors as well, just FYI.
