You haven't lived unless you've had a fresh out of the oven bagel with some butter and cheddar cheese. This has been my go to on weekend mornings for years. St Urbain also offers a variety of different pastries and the requisite lox and cream cheese that goes very well with the previously mentioned dream bagels. These bagels are definitely Montreal style in flavour, but I've found that over the years they have gotten smaller. This location has been owned by the same family for years. I also have a special place in my heart because they used to sponsor my softball team when I was a kid and our uniforms were a sweet purple (not that it's relevant but we were definitely the best looking team out there). There is another location in St Lawrence Market, but it's definitely worth the trek north of steeles to visit this store. It's got the nicest vibe and the ladies that work there are the sweetest on the planet! The only reason why this isn't a 5 star rating is due to the rising cost and shrinkage in size of their bagels.
