When I went into Cam's, two staff were talking on the telephone with customers, didn't even acknowledge me when I came in. Ok cool. After a staff member paused to take a look at something away from the phone, they still didn't acknowledge me. 1-2 minutes later, they finally do. $90 diagnostic fee (before tax) to check my car. Ok that's pretty standard I guess. Now the not so standard part. After 3 hours, quoted for $500++ (before tax and including diagnostic fee) to replace a simple/common issue. Called 4-5 other auto shops in the surrounding area, they all quoted me between $250 - 325 before tax to fix the exact same issue (+84% higher at Cam's). I checked on ebay and amazon.ca and the part they said I needed to replace cost $180 online. Cam's also does not break down the parts vs. labour costs on the invoice, I wonder why. yelp reviews do not accurately reflect this place
