The Calgary Zoo is a must-visit for locals and tourists of all ages! The well-maintained and curated zoo is thematically arranged and is very engaging due to the variety of programming, variety of animals, flora, etc. complimented by updated infrastructure.
The annual pass is worthwhile if you see yourself enjoying the zoo 2+ times. With the highest tier pass, you get free parking and some additional perks that make "hosting" or treating other visitors economical.
Throughout the season, the zoo holds limited-term events such as an evening lantern event (autumn), and ornamental lighting aka "Zoolights" over the winter holidays. Very visually striking and a huge hit for children and adults alike.
