I booked an appointment for 3 20 minute whitening sessions when passing through the building a week earlier. They did not have a business card that I could take with me, and the girl was not able to fully explain the procedure or answer all of my questions. When I went home later that day, I decided not to go to my appointment, but was unable to cancel due to not having their contact information, and not having been given a straight answer as to the name of the business by the girl at reception. Well when my appointment day came along, on an impulse, and against my better judgement I went. When I checked in the receptionist took me to the back, and again was unable to explain anything. She was also the technician. The first 20 minute session was alright, but my gums were hurting. I mentioned this to her, but she did not seem concerned. By the end of the second session I was in agony, and again mentioned it, and again got no reaction. At that point I should have told her to stop the procedure, but I wanted to finish to see what the results would be. When it was finally done, I looked in the mirror and my teeth looked the same as when I had come in. 'She then told me that it would take 24-48 hours to see full results, and advised me not to eat for an hour, to drink lots of water, and to avoid staining foods for the next 48 hours. I followed all of the above directions, and saw no change after 48 hours. However, it is now 3 days later and my gums are still bleeding and painful, to the point where eating is extremely painful, and I can't even brush my teeth. I would advise anyone thinking of whitening at a "salon", to go straight to their dentist instead. I will never again let anyone other than my dentist touch my teeth. At least if I have a reaction after the dentist they would know how to treat it. I paid $ 42, and let's just say you get what you pay for. Never again. I also plan on reporting this business to the BBB, and Alberta Health Services, for the damage they caused to my gums. The business is moving soon, and will be called L'amaj Beauty Solutions, so beware of them in their new location.
