I agree with all of the negative reviews of Wells Fargo. Yes the rate was the best one i was quoted, but their customer serivice nazis are exactly as described in so many reviews. I purchased my car in October 2012. My payment was $461 per month. From the first payment I sent $500 every month via my bill payer account. I notced the first time I logged onto my account that the extra money was not goint to principal, but was being subtracted from the next months payment. I contacted customer service and they were less than friendly. I was informed that since I was paying through my banks bill payer that they could not credit the extra money to principal. If I wanted the extra to go to principal I had to call them every month after the payment was posted to ask them to credit principal. My other choice was to have them debit my account directly in which case they would credit the extra to principal. Not sure why they can do one and not the other. I finally agreed to do it that way but the first month it was in effect they did not draft the payment. I called and was told it takes 5 business days to get drafted. After 5 days it was still not drafted so I called again and this time I was told I was paid ahead and did not owe a payment. This did not make sense but they insisted I did not owe a payment and declined to take a payment. Two days later their collection dept. woke me up and 8:00 AM and she was very rude telling me my account was overdue. After a protracted conversation with me getting very upset she asked if she could draft my account today to bring iot to date. I agreed and she completed the draft but failed to tell me there was a $10.00 charge for a phone assisted draft. Excuse me, you called me after you screwed up and then you charged me $10.00!!! I then got a letter from customer service stating the automatic draft was cancelled because they could not find my account ( the one they just charged me to draft) I again contacted customer service and we reset the auto draft and she varified it ws active. The next payment again failed to draft and I called again. This person told me the auto draft was cancelled. I had all I could do to contain myself and again explained what had been happening. She asked if she could draft the payment and I protested about the 10.00 charge so she agreed to do a one time courtesy waiver. I allowed the draft but told them I was going back to my banks bill payer service. These people are idiots. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing and I will NEVER do busines with them again. I would pay a higher interest rate rather than do business with Wells Fargo.
