I usually use Avis for car rentals, but got a cheaper price with Hertz bidding through Priceline. There was a very long line of people waiting to rent cars and only two employees were working at the counter. They have a number of computers off to the side. I went over to see what they were for while my friend waited in line, and a very rude Hertz employee came running over and yelled at me not to touch the screen. It took about 20 minutes to reach the front of the line. The agent who helped me gave me a very hard upsell, warning me I was getting a hatchback and didn't I want to upgrade? No, I didn't. She was also pretty nosy, asking why we were in town. The car we got was okay; it had over 20,000 miles and had a number of dings and scratches. The front license plate was mangled with a piece on the side falling off.
I would not rent from Hertz again, primarily due to the long wait in line and the bad attitude of their employees.
