Our family was looking to join the YMCA down in Ahwatukee, but after visiting this place we immediately joined. The indoor pool area rivals the best "water park resorts" in Phoenix. The kids pool area is actually better than any of the resorts around here. Once you get over how great the pool area is, you'll also find that they have an indoor running track and a decent workout gym. The gym hasn't been crowded during the times that we go (usually late morning on weekends or late evenings on weekdays). They also have a boxing gym and tons of fitness classes all week long. If you do come, you will want to know that the pool and climbing wall hours change frequently and depending on what day of the week it is. But they do their best to post them. This community center truly is a bright spot in the midst of the ghettos of South Phoenix.
