Where do I start.... We were sold on the location and the amazing main pool, plus we liked the layout of the apartment. We moved in and right away we had issues with our air conditioner not working, thankfully it wasn't summer yet so it was manageable. They had to come out 3-4 times after each time saying it was fixed. The maintenance guy was extremely friendly and I am sure he was doing what he could, but I just wish would wouldn't have been told it was fixed at first when it really wasn't. It was frustrating, but we got over it and liked the complex. One thing though is that the carpet was not replaced which we could tell a week into moving, as for a "luxury" apartment the carpet is extremely cheap and crappy. Also, don't let the model fool you, the cabinets are way nicer and so are the bathtubs.
If you need parking I would say DO NOT move here. You have to pay to even get 1 covered spot, which I find ridiculous, but it seems a lot of apartments are starting to do this to get money any way they can. We decided to get a garage since we have a bike and 2 cars (since it wasn't too much more than the covered spot), we thought this would be enough with seeing all of the uncovered spots when we signed the lease, well sometimes its not. If you come home after 8:00pm sometimes you can't find an uncovered spot even at the opposite end of the complex, which is obviously a pain especially when you have groceries or are tired. I've seen people park in places they shouldn't because of this issue and I completely understand why. You pay all of this money for you apartment and can't even park. People have even had to park across the street at Fry's at times. The issue doesn't come up frequently for us, but when it does its a huge pain in the ass. We even started playing musical cars at one point so we could make sure we'd come home from a date or the gym with a spot to park.
Another issue we have enjoyed coming across is termites! Yes, I found termites in my closet and we found out other apartments have had this issue, yet no notice was ever sent out. I understand this stuff happens and can be out of one's control, but again when your rent goes up over $100 when you resign it's the last thing you want to find. When we told the complex the response was "How are you just noticing this?" then they didn't come out until 3 days later to fix the issue. So far nothing has come back, but they didn't even clean the trails left behind.
For the most part the staff in the office is pretty friendly and helpful. They respond to calls and emails and get back pretty quickly. I have been locked out of the gym before and they happily let me in. I also know this stuff is out of their control, but the company really needs to figure out the parking situation or allow 1 free covered spot with the rental. I just feel things could be done differently to help their tenants, but again they just work there they didn't write the guidelines. I also, saw another tenant post pictures of the trash and yes, this is a common issue. I seriously do NOT get how people cannot actually put their trash in the dumpster and just let it sit on the side. It's purely rude and lazy, but this is also not something the complex can fully control. They do however maintain the grass and the landscape of the place pretty nicely. They do have a gym as well and just "updated it" which we were so excited for and what a let down. All they did was repaint it (which it was fine before) and redo the floors. We were expecting new equipment, but none of that was updated. The treadmills need to be updated as one is super loud when you run and the other tends to wobble a little.
The complex is super dog friendly, which is great and the complex does try to do things around the holidays for the community which is awesome. They also have food trucks sometimes which is cool. I just personally think this place is over priced for what you get and I don't necessarily feel it's "luxury." The only reason we renewed our lease was because we didn't want to move again, but the rise in rent was a huge turn off and they are weird about the length on the leases as well. We wanted 6 months, but then all of the sudden they "sold out" of 6 month leases so we had to push it out, which is now a huge problem for us. It's our own fault for not moving out, but now that issues have come up where we need to move out they WILL NOT help in any way possible. We offered doing a 60 day notice and even paying some sort of fee, but that was a no go. We showed them why we needed to move and they could care less about my boyfriends drill (military) schedule. I get it, it's business, but it's also bullshit and very frustrating. So now we will have to move and fork out rent on 2 places for 2 months.
Again, we loved the pool during the summer and the location of the complex plus it seemed to be one of the nicer complexes in the area.... but I don't feel you get what you pay for here.
