The only reason I would join this gym is for the kids' playroom. Which is really too good a deal and they are probably losing money on it. Not very business savvy. And I wouldn't leave a baby or toddler, but 3+ is probably alright. If you want racquetball or a pool, you might be happy with this place. As soon as my kids aged out of needing the playroom, I quit and joined Planet Fitness in Edgewood. First of all, the equipment is in horrible repair. The televisions on the cardio equipment either didn't work or had the volume adjusted so low you could hardly hear it or turned the whole way up. The customer service is awful. Every time I made a suggestion or comment, they just stared at me. The final straw was the lack of cleaning. They 'cleaned' the Ladies gym by picking up the weights and mats. There was hair matted on the carpet and along the floor boards and tiny stones and debris all through the carpet which was half-vacuumed maybe twice a month. I don't believe the carpet was ever cleaned. The mirror was usually smudgy and gross. There were 'water' marks on the carpets that smelled like urine. Exercise mats were filthy and in horrible condition. The cardio equipment was sweaty and full of dust. The bathrooms were just gross. I don't think the lockers were ever cleaned out and everything was in poor repair. One thing they didn't scrimp on- employees to sign up new members! Three or four of them all the time. Also, they don't open until 8 on Saturdays, which I think is ridiculous. There would be a dozen people standing there waiting for them to open. Planet Fitness is much, much cleaner, they are nice to you, everything is in great condition. Open 24 hours. $10/month plus a yearly fee, I think about $40.
