As I've said before, I'm all about local businesses (#trendy), especially local businesses in my new neighborhood. So, I'll give Bremecs on the Heights 3 stars instead of the 2 it really deserves. I purchased a Groupon for Bremecs weeks ago, excited to check this place out for the first time and save some money while doing it. I ventured in on a Sunday afternoon, purchasing a few flowers and herbs for my apartment's window box. The positives: local business, close to home, fills a need for the neighborhood, beautiful pottery, hefty selection, and healthy plants. The negatives: Overpriced, rude staff (the cashier frowned and said "oh you have one of those" when I pull my Groupon from my pocket), bad signage (prices not marked), and no assistance from staff. I probably won't be back, I honestly received superior survice at my stop at Home Depot the same day. Small business are able to charge a premium because the offer better, more friendly service than the chain guys. Bremecs, however, did not.
