It pains me deeply to give the Great Impasta only two stars. It used to be one of my very favorite restaurants, even after it moved from downtown Champaign to Urbana, but I can no longer say that.
The food is a pale ghost of its former self. The pasta is often over cooked. The sauces which used to be very special have become indifferent.
On the other hand, I've always found the staff to be especially friendly and helpful, but these days, the only reason I go there is to hear Donnie Heitler play the piano on Wednesday nights.
