Once upon a time I would say that waking up early and heading to the local donut shoppe prior to opening, waiting outside discussing what indulgences we will enjoy as we waft in the delicious aroma sounded like a scene from some cute 80's or 90's romantic comedy. Well in a world where life inmates art, that is exactly the concept behind the now nationally recognized Donut Bar. I work in a hotel in Downtown San Diego, and people from around the country ask for this place, by name! With a line out the door all the time, arrive early and expect to wait, but don't worry, you will not me disappointed. Its like willy wonka drank a bunch of local craft beer and conceptualized some of these out of this world breakfast desserts. My suggestion is to buy at least 3: 1 to eat immediately. 1 to sit down upstairs and enjoy with some coffee. and 1 to give to someone else.
