Though its a UW entity located in Union South (Main flr, next to Wiscard/Box Office), one gripe I gotta make right away is there is No student discount*. Also, I wish they had more fruit and less sugar-caramel-candy flavors at a given time. Though "Bo's Special" (or something like that; Vanilla w/ Raspberries) is ok. Daily Scoop is kinda pricey, ~3bucks+ per scoop, but at least there's a decent scoop size. - : Its Ice cream, well sometimes a sorbet flavor too. I prefer Gelato or good froYo, both of which are hard to come by here. Yes I know its not a fair comparison, but for an Innovation-focused dairy-based entity, it either better be Mind-blowing Great Ice cream (Imho ice cream has too much air/water to have great flavor, best case: grainy texture/frostbite is minimal) or they should diversify to other, more yummy options. Make it extra credit for FoodSci or something. The hours could be longer, but I say that about everything, and with the Walker 'all shall be dust and ash' UW budget gutting (anyone notice how his old town got a new NBA stadium costing about the same at the same time?) its a wonder anything there stays open. +: Service is fast, friendly. Flavours usually rotate. If you like Ice cream, it's really worth a try. And the money stays local, so that's something. Really my gripes are minor, and largely the product of my own sense of overentitlement. Try it, it is good. *Student discount: sorta; although you need to PAY with your Id/Wiscard. If you live offcampus with no $ on the ID, you don't get a discount for being a student with a valid ID. Also, I think Union Members, and probably Regents get some discount, but not certain.
