Upon first arrival, this hotel appears to be an elegant option for a nice stay downtown. Once you get to the room, however, it's a different story. * CARPETS: First, the carpets in the room we're stained and looked dirty. *BATHROOM: In the bathroom, the grout around the tiles was never wiped when originally installed making the tiles look dirty. Also, I found it odd that as part of the amenities, there was no body wash, only a bar of soap. I've been to cheaper hotels that offer both. *ROOM:These days, it's pretty standard to find an outlet on the nightstand to plug in your phone, but this room had none. I had to go behind the bed and unplug the alarm clock just to plug up my phone by the bed. That's where I also found a mess if wires that appeared questionably safe. CONCLUSION: Even with the shortcomings, you still get the signature Westin comfortable bed. However, with the cost and reputation of Westin, I definitely felt like the quality of this hotel was far below the expected standards.
