As a Chicago food aficionado, I walked in and was overwhelmed by the menu. As we waited (there were 3 of us) for 20 minutes, the food coming out to the others (6) in the restaurant looked huge, greasy, and amazing.
I would have given 4 stars, if it were not for the price and the wait.... $15 for a sandwich, fries, and drink. Ouch.
I appreciate the fact that the lemonade was from real lemons, and the giardinera was homemade, and the italian beef was well stuffed, but $15 seemed like a bit much, especially when considering the seating and tables have not seen a dime in upgrades or maintenance in a decade or more. I know it takes time and money to make good food from good ingredients, but a few bucks and a few minutes less would have been nice.
