Friends had recommended Jaleo to us, simply for their gin and tonics. Those are my husband's favorite drinks and so we decided to stop in to try one. We were served the Tierra version, per requesting to try the house made tonic. The drink comes in a wine glass with a sphere ice cube and garnishes. While not being the biggest gin fan, I couldn't tell that there was any gin in the drink. It was absolutely delicious and very refreshing. The bartender was even nice enough to go over the different Fever Tree tonics they use for the other versions, and how they pair them with the spice notes of the gins. We were very impressed. I was torn but docked a star per the price of $20/glass. We would have been happy to stay there and try their other three versions, but the price is sooo high. I understand paying for quality and many of the ingredients are made in house, but dang. Just too much for us. But we'll definitely be back and are pleased to now know more about pairing tonics.
