I was very disappointed in this company which we hired to sell my mother's estate. She seemed organized and had some things itemized, but it turns out not everything. When I asked how sales went after the second day she wouldn't give me a number on how much was sold. I thought that was shady...you should have some idea if you've been ringing things up. I usually always do when I have a garage sale. I also noticed a bunch of items that I know were vintage set aside by the cash register the night before the sale. So I'm sure she sold those to one of her friends or cronies. When she finally gave me a summation three days later, it was much less than what I thought should be the total so I felt ripped off. My mother had a lot of very valuable things, well cared for furniture and antiques. I wish I had tried to sell them on Ebay or online instead.
Then the kicker was that they had bagged up a lot of stuff they didn't try to sell and put it in the backyard where we discovered it after they left. We had to drag over 24 bags and boxes of garbage out to the street for garbage collection. They also left a bed frame, mattresses and a huge desk in the garage for us to dispose of. I thought they would leave everything clean and the house empty! Wrong. The carpet was a mess and so was the house! When I brought this to her attention she just shrugged me off.
