Great place to stay! I just had the pleasure of spending 2 nights at this hotel for a birthday celebration. We were in room 505 - nice accommodations, the bed is SUPER comfy and the shower and bath are luxurious and relaxing. The whole feel is very romantic and european. Not the greatest view looking out at a modern brick apartment building from this room, however pop your head out the french style shutter windows and you get a great view either way of Rue St Paul and even a peek-a-boo view of the basilica Notre Dame. Cute little electric fireplace in the room doesn't let off heat but it provides ambiance.
Most of the staff was excellent - Patrick at the front desk was excellent as were the bellboys/valets Frankie and Steven. All gave excellent advice about what to see and where to go/eat in the vicinity. We only encountered 1 rude cleaning staff member in the elevator who was huffing and puffing and making faces for some unknown reason. Maybe she was just having a bad day.
Really it was a great stay! The hotel even had a birthday card and complimentary brownies and strawberries waiting for us in the room when we checked in.
Cooked to order breakfast was included at Taverne Gaspar - definitely try the crepes and the eggs Benedict were also delicious!
the waitress was also very sweet and remembered our preferences for breakfast the second morning.
I plan to go back in the summer to check out more outdoor activities and enjoy the terrace bar which is only open from May/June - August/September.
Tip: The elevator is VERY VERY slow (our bellboy told us it's so slow that they had to put a TV in there) and there is only one, so give yourself a couple of extra minutes going in and out.
