Hometown Rooter was contracted via AHS home warranty on Sunday. We were sent an automated text and followed up with a phone call. This is not our first house; we've successfully utilized the homeowner warranties before and always consult what is covered prior to requesting service. Describing the covered issue to Ken, he point-blank stated that the issue was not covered. It was only covered with a "seven star" warranty upgrade. I gently disagreed - he was adamant it was not covered. While polite and friendly, he was completely incorrect. He did what many service providers do - made up an excuse because he just didn't want to travel from Washington County to the top of Allegheny county for a small job. I obtained outside authorization for a competent plumber close to home, who completed the work for the warranty company.
