It has been way too long since I made the drive out to Cave Creek and stopped by The Horny Toad for the best Fried Chicken in Arizona. At least five years and the place has not changed a bit. Which is a good thing! The Western honky tonk decor and funky furniture and booths just suits the place. You can choose to dine indoors or on the patio. We were seated for lunch right away and our service person was prompt and friendly. I ordered a whole fried chicken. Just for me. I do not share at this place. My buddy had the all-you-can eat Friday Fish N Chips which he said were delish. The Fried Chicken (actually I think it is broasted) came out pipping hot and I am happy to report was just as tasty as the first time I ordered it thirty years ago. Wonderful light outside coating, fantastic seasonings, and tender, juicy chicken cooked to perfection. I ate about half of the chicken and got a to-go box to smuggle the other half back to town for a Sunday NFL football special snack. MMM--Good!!
